" ...I first saw (Sid's) work about 15 years ago in a now defunct cooperative gallery. I was immediately impressed by the link between subject matter and painting style. Several years later, while attending a studio open house, my impression was reinforced. At that time we traded work, and I have continued to follow his work to the present.

Sid is now in his eighties. His present pictures tell us about his children, his wife, and his life. For the paintings to have significance for us, they have to surpass the somewhat eccentric style and execution and stand for something universal. I think they accomplish this." Marvin Jones
